That’s Interesting

I am one that will never book a horse back ride or a carriage ride without seeing the horses first - especially their feet. I was happy that every horse I saw in Charleston was in good shape and had on specialized shoes. Check these out!

I was awarded this buckle cup - which was probably one of the coolest prizes I ever won. Anyone have a favorite prize they won? (edited)

Barn hack of the day, courtesy of our very own THQ employee, @Amanda Chance
For just $10, you can make this super handy DIY for hanging things around the barn. Because if there’s one thing we love, it’s a cheap and easy barn hack that actually makes life easier!
Save this one for your next trip to the hardware store!

This one is on my list!

Saw this visual and thought it was pretty cool! (edited)

When I was a kid I read a book about the wild ponies that live on the island. I always wanted to go there one day. Has anyone been? (edited)

Have you guys seen Express Go, the undefeated harness racing pony from Norway? She's SO cool!

I've never seen anything like this. (edited)

I've been reading a lot about Indians across the plains, and I'm assuming all of heard of Crazy Horse. He was a massively known/influential Lakota warrior. He is probably best known as one of the leaders at Little Big Horn (where Custer and the US Army were routed).
Anyways, he goes by Crazy Horse, but the direct translation is "His-Horse-Is-Crazy". How many of you feel like this could have been your name??!! :)
Crazy Horse is such an influential figure, that there is a big monument under construction in the Black Hills. Its really amazing.

The famous Aqueduct racetrack is closing in New York after 132 years. On June 28th the last race will be held before closing its doors forever. The 100 acre site will revert to the State of New York. Racing will be moved to the modernized Belmont Park.
Have you ever been to Aqueduct? (edited)

This Is interesting. Once a year they wrangle one of the last flocks of wild horses into an arena in Germany. Check out that photo!

It seems like there has been so much upheaval lately in the equestrian retail space. It started with SmartPak, then Charles Owen announced a big scale back, then Dover is closing most of its stores, and now Tredstep has been sold to Equinavia. Do you think the industry is just evolving as it natural... (edited)

People are WILD, man. Imagine having a concept like bridleless riding, which is meant to demonstrate how well-trained your horse is, and then a company makes a tool like this to "help" you with that. And people BUY IT. I mean, hear me out... maybe train your horse better before you take the bridle ... (edited)

Horses are full of weird little details that sound completely made up at first glance. Like the kind of thing you would argue about at the barn aisle until someone pulls out Google. What is the most surprising horse fact you have learned that sounds fake but is actually true?
I think the most obvious one is that horses can't throw up. (edited)

Very interesting!
