Mini Horse Wake Up!

Any Hunter riders out there? What do you think?
I think this is a great idea! I spent more time in the jumper ring than the hunter ring as a professional rider, but this makes total sense to me!

Way to go, Laura! 🇺🇸
I had Laura come do a clinic for my students at Virginia Intermont manyyy years ago (in her days of riding Simba Run). I also got to ride my jumper with her which was super fun. She's an amazing athlete and so nice & down to earth. It's been fun to watch her wildly successful career! 🎉

Another hot topic in Hunter Land...
I'm old enough to remember when we always showed hunters on big grass fields and galloping & brilliance were rewarded, not penalized... judges didn't mind a little nose flip or head shake in the corner if the horse was proud of his effort jumping the last oxer out of the line. Then over the years came the all weather footing everywhere, and people (not me) over lungeing, over medicating, producing hunters that looked liked machines and not horses... because this is what (many of) the judges are rewarding. As this happened, I spent much more time in the jumper ring anyway! This article sums it up nicely.
**People feel the judging needs to change for anything else to change. What do you think??

What an amazing tribute
I am crying. I barely know the story behind Colby's Wish but this Memorial at the Kentucky Horse Park is just so breathtaking. The engagement on the horse's face is heartbreaking ❤️.
